Brave is the seventh studio album by Marillion, released in 1994. It charted at number 10 on the UK Albums Chart, being the last of the band's albums to reach the Top 10 in the United Kingdom until F E A R reached number 4 in 2016. The album, which mixed classic symphonic progressive rock with standard rock, was ranked by Raw as one of the 20 greatest albums of 1994.

His keyboard playing was such an integral part of Marillion's sound, but on this album he is for the most part relegated to play organ in the background. Reply Notify me 1 Helpful. New Steve Wilson 2018 Mix is really worth getting imo. Reply Notify me Helpful.

Brave is a Marillion album with a truly unique atmosphere, feeling like a piece apart from the rest of their discography. Their very best live performances of the entire album recapture that atmosphere. Brave Live 2013 doesn't. Possibly this is down to this performance of the album feeling less like the welcome return of a long-lost old friend that the first Brave Live was, so much as it feels a bit more like business as usual. It doesn't help that there's still a brace of H-era studio albums that haven't been given the Marillion Weekend treatment - marillion.
7. Alone Again in the Lap of Luxury. 10. The Great Escape.
Rebounding from the inconsistent Holidays in Eden, Marillion retreated to the studio for 15 months to write and record the concept album Brave. Telling the story of an abused girl wandering on Severn Bridge, the album is a solid mix of symphonic tracks with a pronounced rock edge. A band known for trilogies, the final set of "The Great Escape," "The Last of You," and "Falling From the Moon" form one of the most dynamic showcases for vocalist Steve Hogarth and guitarist Steve Rothery.
