Nathan Fake announces new album, Providence, for Ninja Tune. The UK producer's fourth LP lands in March. Nathan Fake - Steam Days. Nathan Fake - Iceni Strings.

Nathan Fake – Iceni Strings. Drowning In A Sea Of Love‘s roughly hewn synth sounds and lysergic melodies have helped to define a label that has helped to define a genre. On his second album Fake moved into techier territory. The melodies simmered with a new aggression, the percussion had a harder edge. But for his third effort, it would seem, the producer has returned to his kaleidoscopically warped vision of pastoral England.

He released a six track mini-album Hard Islands in 2009. His third album Steam Days followed in 2012. In 2014, Nathan founded the label Cambria Instruments with Wesley Matsell, the inaugural release being a split single between the two artists.

Norfolk retro-futurist Nathan Fake returns with brand new single Iceni Strings: a typically bold reframing of the Zeitgeist, where burbling organic synths meet a deliciously crunchy techno rattle in one glorious, exuberant pre-apocalyptic braindance. Unmistakably Nathan Fake, but with a warmer take on the hard-edged techno that dominated previous mini-longplayer Hard Islands, the deceptively simple melody of ‘Iceni Strings’ resonates with a campfire folk memorability that becomes the Iceni, the ancient Norfolk-dwelling Celtic tribe who lend their name to the title.

Really the last gasp for my beloved Border Community's signature sound. This sounds like an amalgamation of BC01, BC06, and BC10. If you like that Holden/Fake old school glitch rhythm you'll definitely dig this. Plus as usual, great cover art!

Agree! MA, check out his recent Sunder EP. Classic Fake, and so good!
Gigafish
Delia Derbyshire very skillfully sampled in first track.
Celore
The main loop in the track is exactly the same as "Dance From Noah" by Delia.
Wymefw
