live in milano recorded late 2014. solo guitar : ’72 reissue telecaster through 1966 vibro champ (via humbucker) with amplified chanting playing in accordance with the musical teachings of erich zann, luigi nono’s prometeo, and tarrl’s shifting of rings. supported by 4 fans who also own live in santa maria delle grazie, milano. LIke tman1015, I am a little scared of this album. It is a deeply shocking and accurate musical portrayal of senile dementia -inasmuch as I've (sadly) observed members of friends and family become gradually subsumed by it. Yet it is captivating, there are many moments of beauty along the way.

Santa Maria delle Grazie. Solari designed a beautiful structure in a late Gothic style, which was completed in 1490. Ludovico il Moro, the duke of Milan, decided the Santa Maria delle Grazie would be a perfect sepulchre for him and his wife and in preparation asked Donato Bramante in 1492 to remodel the church. Bramante rebuilt the apse and crowned it with a magnificent sixteen-sided drum in Renaissance style. Ludovico's wife Beatrice d'Este was buried here in 1497.
Yet another breathtaking experience in Milano! Seeing the last supper with a pre-booked 30 minute guided tour in the evening was outstanding. It sure beats walking in there and just seeing the paintings. We got the whole history and a description of both sides of the room and what different aspects of the paintings represented. Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie, on its own, is certainly not a "must see" Milan destination.
